This morning Jessie seems to have moved West.  After being located in and around St Andrews and St Martins for the last few weeks and working to catch her we have had reports this morning she had been spotted in Perelle this morning and at 2200hrs this evening a sighting near the Fleur de Jardin.

Previously Jessie the stray beagle cross has been seen on multiple occasions in and around the St Martins, St Andrews, St Peter Port and Forest area and we have been trying to feed her in and around a trap central to these locations.

Over the weekend staff and volunteers at the GSPCA have been out to multiple locations in search of Jessie.

Jessie the stray beagle cross is being seen on multiple occasions in and around the St Martins, St Andrews, St Peter Port and Forest area and we now have her feeding in and around a trap central to these locations.

Although GSPCA team members have got within metres of Jessie she is extremely nervous and takes off at speed when approached so we are using the trap as the best way to capture her.

Fish and turtles now clean not green

Submitted by Steve on 20:14, 21st May, 2015 | 0

On Saturday a member of the GSPCA were called out to rescue two turtles and two goldfish which were found outside in a very dirty tank.

When Geoff George Animal Collection Officer rescued the fish and turtles he had to quickly try and find a location with appropriate tanks to help temporarily house them whilst facilities were arranged at the Animal Shelter in St Andrews.

Thankfully staff at the Friquet Garden Centre in Castel offered their services where all four were transported to place them in suitable conditions.

Hoglets eyes start to open

Submitted by Steve on 18:47, 19th May, 2015 | 0

Nearly two weeks since they were rescued and our 3 hoglets eyes have started to open and are doing very well.

Widge, Midge and Fidge were rescued after being found with no mother in sight.

Ambulance Collection Officer Geoff George attended the scene in Torteval where they were found all alone in a shed.

We are pleased to report the baby hoglets have been feeding well and are now trying to escape from their bed whenever they get the chance.

Can you help donate towards Betty's care - 2 months on and she is doing well

Submitted by Steve on 14:39, 17th May, 2015 | 0

Just over two months ago GSPCA Welfare Manager Lorna Prince was called to Les Eturs Veterinary practice to assess a dog that had been rushed into their care. Betty, a beautiful English Bull Terrier, had arrived at the surgery suffering with brain seizures, she couldn’t stand up, hold her head up and was blind. Betty was extremely malnourished and weighed less than a third of the weight a healthy English Bull at 13 kgs.
