At the GSPCA we help thousands of lost and found pets every year.
Each year 200 dogs stray are rescued and brought into the GSPCA, and over 500 cats that are stray or involved in an accident, not to mention everything from parrots to tortoise, snakes to hamsters and many more.
To help speed up the process of reporting your pet lost and so that you can now report the your pet missing 24 hours 7 days a week you can now complete a lost report online which automatically goes onto our system.
The GSPCA would like you to help Naturewatch Foundation who are appealing to help spread the word to our supporters about The Great British Puppy Survey.
On Monday we welcomed new volunteers to the GSPCA in the sunshine.
We set up seats next to the GSPCA pond where 20 new volunteers of all ages arrived to learn about the work of the Shelter and become involved with our 24 hour 7 day a week work.
From work experience to Duke of Edinburgh, administration volunteers to those wanting to help with the animals, the first one started on Tuesday and many are starting this weekend.
Thank you to all that came along and we are looking forward to getting everyone involved.
The GSPCA would like to thank the Guernsey National Trust for allowing us to join them for their wonderful fundraiser held on the first Monday of July (held the same in any year).
Le Viaër Marchi is a colourful and widely anticipated annual event in Guernsey’s calendar and continues to be the Guernsey National Trust’s greatest fundraiser.
The event was held, at Saumarez Park and with the great weather attracted a huge gathering of locals and visitors.
Yesterday we joined the Taste Guernsey Seafront Sunday with our stall to raise funds for the animals in Guernsey.
It was the second Taste Guernsey Seafront Sunday and the third of 2015.
We set up at 8am and before the day could even start the road was full of tourists and locals enjoying the lovely weather and the many stalls and entertainment.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "Thank you again to Taste Guernsey for allowing us to join them for their Seafront Sunday yesterday where we managed to raise over £600 to help animals in Guernsey."
Over the Spring at the GSPCA we have redecorated our reception area thanks to our team and some wonderful donations.
KPMG when they moved offices kindly donated a selection of office equipment and their reception desk now greets you here at the GSPCA which has replaced our old desk.
Thanks to Carpet Solutions who donated new vinyl we have been able to replace the old flooring in reception and E & G Carpet Fitters helped to lay it with our team in assistance preparing the old floor.
On Friday we were invited along to Amherst School Fete.
We arrived just after 4pm ready for the 6pm opening and had a lovely night raising funds on our stall to help animals in Guernsey.
We had many winners to the many games we took along and also lots of interest in our resident tortoise.
Over £400 was raised and a huge thank you to all that supported and the school and PTA for letting us take part.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "We had a lovely evening at the Amherst School Fete on Friday and raised over £400 which is fantastic."
