Yesterday we held a land mark event at the GSPCA.

For the first time in our 142 year history we celebrated the Topping Out of the biggest build project in our long history.

Mrs Lynda Walker, wife of our patron Lieutenant Governor Peter Walker, was the guest of honour to the event.

The GSPCA Trustees and team also invited supporters, local press and Build Partners to the Topping Out Ceremony.

As Spring sets in the GSPCA see a sharp increase in the number of animals coming into the Shelter and needing to be rescued.

Yesterday we were called out to an address in St Peter Port where a cat had found itself stuck high up in a tree since Sunday.

Geoff George Animal Collection Officer arrived at the scene Tuesday morning and after making an assessment he called a colleague, Annie Janes GSPCA Animal Care Assistant to assist with additional equipment.

Dolphin Day

Submitted by Steve on 08:25, 14th Apr, 2015 | 0

Dolphin Day is celebrated throughout the world and in the grand scheme of things it is perhaps one of the most well-known unofficial holidays of the world.

Having gained steam in the 1990s and continuing into the present day, this holiday focuses on the worldwide plight of the dolphins. Considering how similar dolphins appear to be to ourselves, we may even call Dolphin Day one of the more “human” holidays that are celebrated.

Gatherings and awareness meetings take place in major cities across the globe. Some of largest venues include San Francisco, New York City and Tokyo.
