At the GSPCA we have been helping animals around the clock for over 150 years.
We have incredible support thanks to our amazing team of volunteers and so many groups and companies that volunteer to help the GSPCA and the vast range of work we carry out 24/7.

The GSPCA is currently celebrating 150 years since being founded in 1873 and we are delighted to announce the main acts and entertainment for our 150 year Ball.
As part of the celebrations the Ball takes place on Saturday 10th February 2024 which is our founding day and will be during the GSPCA Purple Week 2024.
As part of the celebrations we would like to invite you to a very special evening to mark this momentous occasion with a range of entertainment and decorations thanks to Save the Date.
The Petplan & ADCH (Association of Dogs and Cats Homes) Animal Charity Awards 2024 is an opportunity to recognise animal charities, as well as individual team members and volunteers, for the hard work they put in to help give so many animals a brighter future.

In 2019 a GSPCA Animal Care Assistant was amazed when out of 7000 nominations she won the Animal Charity Employee of Year 2019 and we have had others as finalists over the years.
Today after a rescue equipment training session a member of staff from Lloyds Bank International Ltd attended the GSPCA morning to give a talk to the team about Financial Well Being.
The Bringing Banking to You Manager Islands Community Banking Stephanie Duskova gave an informative impartial talk and Q&A with 19 of the GSPCA team.
You may have seen recently the GSPCA advertised for a new Supervisor?
Well the GSPCA are delighted to announce the appointment of Ali Le Huray to the role of Supervisor and Seb Goman to the role of Senior Animal Care Assistant.
Ali Le Huray GSPCA Supervisor said "I was delighted when I was offered the post of Supervisor as I love the job so much."
"We see many challenges at the GSPCA and I really enjoy being part of such a great team helping so many animals."

Last night we held our last Volunteer Induction of 2023.
Despite the dark cold night 5 ladies attended the GSPCA and are all set to start over the next ten days.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “It was wonderful to meet the 5 ladies that attended our GSPCA Volunteer Induction Evening last night.”
“It was very dark at 630pm when they arrived bt they all seemed to have a wonderful time and are all starting over the coming days.”
On Monday 20th November 2023 the Lieutenant-Governor His Excellency the Lieutenant General Richard Cripwell CB, CBE came for his first visit to the GSPCA for a guided tour.
His Excellency arrived at 1030am and was greeted by GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne GSPCA President and local Vet John Knight and GSPCA Vice Presidents Tom Le Pelley and Adele Malpas.

As part of the celebrations we have held a range of events and last night was the final animal first aid course of 2023.
For over a decade we have been running dog and cat first aid courses which help teach owners and pet lovers how to save the life of their pet or animal.
The next GSPCA Dog and Cat First Aid Courses will take place in 2024.
Earlier this week the GSPCA welcome staff from the Pets at Home Guernsey store to have a catch up and show the work that goes on 24/7.
Pets at Home and also the Pets Foundation (formerly the Pets at Home Foundation or Support Adoption for Pets) support the GSPCA and many other animal charities across the UK in many ways.
