At the GSPCA we feel education has a huge part to play in the world we live and knowing what to do whether helping at the GSPCA, at home or in your work place is extremely important.
This Wednesday we have a Volunteer Induction Evening. If you are interested in helping the GSPCA then we ask for you to pop along at 6.30pm to find out about the GSPCA and a short safety induction. The evening takes around 90 minutes and is at the Animal Shelter in St Andrews.
On sale at the GSPCA we have a new range of bugs.
You may have seen over the summer the dog, cat and rabbit bugs with GSPCA details on the tail. We now have a new range for only £1 each at the GSPCA reception.
The new bugs include a new colour dog, bat, penguin, owl, cow, pig, horse, duck and new bunny design.
If you would like to pick up one of the new bugs from the GSPCA shop then it is open 9am until 5pm Monday to Saturday, closed all day Sunday.
They will also be on sale at many of our events.
Many children will be very excited about the release of Michael Bay's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.
As fantastic as many of these films can be for Animal Welfare Organisations they can cause all sorts of problems.
From 101 Dalmatians to the Chipmunks, Lassie to Toto from the Wizard of Oz there are many films and programmes that have influenced people to impluse adopt or buy species and breeds of animals.
Today is Feral Cat Day and we are appealing for special homes for some of our special cats.
We have 5 cats that the team at the GSPCA would love to find a forever home but need that special owner.

Hat-trick helpers from Richmond Fiduciary Group spent a third day in three years helping out at the GSPCA.
Each year since 2012 staff from Richmond Fiduciary Group have given a day from their desk to come up and help clean out, feed, exercise and get involved with all sorts of work at the Animal Shelter in St Andrews.
Last Monday three staff from Credit Suisse gave up a day in the office for a pair of wellies to help out at the GSPCA.
Chrissie Robert, Stef Mella and Gordon Irish arrived just after 9am where they had a short induction from Animal Welfare and Education Officer Sarah Creasey.
Sarah then collected their completed paperwork and got a picture of the group looking clean and tidy with Annie the shitzu before setting them to work around the Animal Shelter.
We are always looking for volunteers to help at the Shelter in a variety of roles.
You need to be at least 14 years old to help at the Shelter. Although if you are younger then you could still help. If you talk to your parents or guardians they may can help you with fund raising for the Animal Shelter.
Nearly two weeks ago a kestrel was rescued and brought into the GSPCA from the St Peters area in Guernsey.
The injured bird had a damaged eye and would have likely perished if she hadn't been found.
Hook as the kestrel has been called was initially in an intensive care unit with regular treatment prescribed from the vet and as Hook got stronger progressed into a hospital cage before being placed in one of the soft release aviaries here at the Shelter in St Andrews.
