This weekend tens of thousands of us across the Bailiwick of Guernsey could be putting your pet at risk at if you feed your pet chocolate intended for people or they manage to find those carefully hidden from the children, as many of us might be planning our Easter Egg Hunts at home.

Across the Bailiwick we are all stocking up Easter eggs and chocolate as gifts for family and loved ones, but the GSPCA has an important message for pet owners.

Update on Oopsie the cats operation and please to donate to her care

Submitted by Steve on 15:22, 31st Mar, 2023 | 0

Every day the GSPCA rush animals to the vets needing vet care and treatment and one very special cat called Oopsie had a very large operation.

Oopsie is one of the oldest cats at the GSPCA at 17 years old who arrived in the Autumn after her owner sadly passed away.

Oopsie is a lovely cat but unfortunately had a nasty growth in ear that needs removing.

We are pleased to say te operation went well and she is now recuperating at the GSPCA.

Weather Warning Advice for your pets and wildlife with High Winds due

Submitted by Steve on 17:13, 30th Mar, 2023 | 0

The GSPCA asks that you think of your animals with the weather bomb due.

Bad weather means it is difficult for hedgehogs and wild birds to feed normally, and young seal pups can easily be separated from their mothers.

Also we have to ensure our pets are safe and we must think for those that live outside if they are safe and if any precautions need to be taken.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "With the high winds we are experiencing in Guernsey many wild animals and birds find it difficult to find food and can easily be injured."
