This time last year the Environment Department warned dog owners to keep pets away from any white substance they may find on local beaches and the GSPCA are asking dog owners to take care as there have been reports over the weekend.
It is believed the substance which could be Palm Oil and has been seen Vazon and at Portlet.
Last year the Environment Department instructed States Works to remove any substance of this description which may be found on beaches.
We continue to search for Bertie and log reports from around Guernsey
We have had a number of recent reports in the Perelle area, which could have been Bertie, but we still have no pictures to confirm it was him.
Staff, volunteers and many wonderful kind souls are continuing to help in the search for Bertie, as well as displaying posters to help advertise him.
Previous sightings have been around the Grandes Rocque, Barras Lane and near St Sampson's High School.
The days following Christmas & the New Year at the GSPCA we will be running a series of guided tours.
There are always hot drinks, snacks and goods on sale during our open times Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm.
We are closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day and reception will shut at 4pm on Christmas Eve and News Years Eve.
This is your opportunity to visit behind the scenes at our Animal Shelter and see the work being carried out for the new build.
We are arranging guided tours on a series of dates at 2pm.

On 23rd May 2014, 80s electronica band Fade2Grey made history by taking a full concert rig to Herm Island and performing in front of 450 fans. The concert was filmed and has been released as a live DVD.
The evening was in aid of GSPCA and World Vision. Doors opened 7pm on what was a very wet and windy evening. Each of the great crowd that attended received a free DVD of the gig.
On Wednesday the 26th November we held our eleventh and final Volunteer Induction Evening at the GSPCA of 2014.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager and Emma Trousdale Animal Care Assistant were on hand to talk to the 17 new volunteers about the work of the Shelter and induct the keen new volunteers about the procedures and protocols at the Animal Shelter.
Some were interested in helping fund raising, others clean kennels, walk dogs, socialise cats and even those doing their Duke of Edinburgh.
Last night we had our US Thanks Giving and Christmas Themed Bingo evening at the Market Bistro.
From great Christmas jumpers to a decorated room set for Thanks Giving the fifth and final bingo night of 2014 at the Market Bistro was held.
We had another great turn out inside the Market Building and the team at the Market Bistro provided excellent service and wonderful food.
The evening started at 7pm with four games of bingo where instead of shouting 'line' or 'house' they were asked to call out 'USA'.
Although in the last 24 hours we have had no 100% confirmed sightings of Bertie, the day before yesterday in the morning there was a possible sighting near to his home on La Hure Mare Road just off Route Summerfield, which could mean that he may be very close to his home.
We did have a call of a possible stray dog last night in the Perelle area, which could have been Bertie, but we still have no pictures to confirm it was him.
