Yesterday the GSPCA and Hearing Dogs for Deaf People Guernsey enjoyed a wonderful afternoon Sunday Lunch organised by Sidney's Sponsored Events.
The event was held at Les Cotils and with the breath taking view from the Harry Bound Room the diners were served fantastic food in picturesque surroundings.
Corinne Connolly was the main organisor of the event helped by Sarah Brown from Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
Tomorrow on Saturday 20th September at 11am you can here all about how Ollie Guillou learned about the work that goes on behind the scenes at the GSPCA Animal Shelter in St Andrews.
He got to handle a few of the animals and even muck out.

A variety of animals from the GSPCA Animal Shelter will be living in Castle Cornet for a day to celebrate World Animal Day.
We remember the animals who have played a part in history by living in the Castle, there will be interactive talks on animal welfare, children’s activities and ‘pet passports’ for children to collect stamps for different animals they see.
Young children are welcome to bring their cuddly toy animals for a special photo opportunity.
On the 1st August a stunning Barn Owl was rescued and brought to the GSPCA that had sadly been caught in garden netting quite likely when she was hunting at night.
The bird who was called 'Beau' had very badly injured legs with the netting cutting deep through the skin.
She was rushed to the vets and put on a series of treatments and returned to the Shelter where she was placed in an Intensive Care Unit.
After a couple of weeks of treatment she was strong enough to be placed in one of our soft release aviaries where she gathered her strength.
From Monday the 22nd September the GSPCA will once again be in the OSA Recruitment Pop Up Shop in Smith Street.
On Monday we will be launching our BRAND NEW GSPCA Hoody and T-shirt.
At the Shelter we now have a range of tops and hoodies and the latest is a purple top with a donkey and Guernsey flag with the words 'This donkey supports animals in Guernsey' with the GSPCA logo.
We will have a range of other clothes included donated items, pet supplies and GSPCA goods on sale all next week.
You may recall that last week we rescued a Kingfisher from the Model Yacht Pond in St Peter Port.
The female bird was exhausted and dehydrated and was the first of its species to be rescued by the GSPCA as far back as the team or records can recall.
She was named Deborah Kerr (after the actress from the 'King and I') and responded well to treatment so after 24 hours cage rest and what was a very quiet bird on arrival to a bird that was raring to go the decision was made to release her in a suitable location.
Last night the GSPCA descended on the Market Bistro with 70 amigos for a night of Mexican Bingo.
As yesterday was the Mexican Independence Day the GSPCA combined a night of Bingo with a Mexican theme.
From decorations to fancy dress and a wonderful Mexican buffet a fun night was had by all.
Each table was named after an animal that is either at the Shelter or has been rehomed or released back to the wild.
