On the weekend the GSPCA helped celebrate two young ladies birthdays at the GSPCA.
On Saturday GSPCA Animal Care Assistant Beckie Smith showed Macie-Jayne around with her friends and introduced them to a wide range of the animals at the Shelter.
On Sunday GSPCA Animal Care Assistant Cathryn Tyrell showed Lois and her friends around who also had a great day visiting the many animals and getting many special treats from stroking the animals to gifts.
Over the last week across the Bailiwick the weather has been challenging our wonderful wildlife.
From Poppy the grey seal pup in Alderney to oiled guillemots found due to the wet windy weather the GSPCA is being kept very busy.
In the last week we have had two oiled guillemots both on the South West Coast.
Meep Meep and Robinson as they have been named are doing well after their bathes but as the bad weather continues the GSPCA are braced for likelihood of other animals affected by the weather needing our help.
On Monday a 2 to 3 day old grey seal pup with no mum in site was rescued in Alderney.
Poppy as she has been called is responding well to treatment and has made it through her second night at the GSPCA.
Already there are signs of her losing her white coat and we continue to do all we can to ensure she survives.
Yesterday John Knight local vet and GSPCA President popped in to check her over and was pleased with her progress and condition.
This weekend we are at the Guernsey Round Table Christmas Fayre which will be held at Beau Sejour Leisure Centre from 10am to 4pm on Sunday 20th November 2016.
Entry to the Christmas Fayre is free and the GSPCA will join many local charities with a variety of gifts and festive games.
On our stall we will have GSPCA goods like hoodies to teddies, tombola games, pet supplies, pet stockings and much more.
We look forward seeing you there and thank the Round Table for organising this fantastic annual event.
This weekend is the Guernsey Grammar School and Sixth Form Centre PTA Christmas Fayre.
With fun, games and food to get you in the Festive Spirit the GSPCA will be joining them with our own stall to raise funds for animals in Guernsey.
Festivities from 2-4 pm, with animal mascots, music, a raffle, Christmas goods, decorations, crafts and jewelry.

Last night the youngest and earliest grey seal pup at the GSPCA was rescued in Alderney.
Now named 'Poppy' she has made it through her first night and receiving further treatment with the GSPCA team and vet today.
She has been cared for through the night and we are doing all we can to ensure she survives.
On Thursday 5 staff from The Travel Corporation joined the team at the GSPCA which made a total of 10 staff last week helping from this wonderful and caring local company
This is the fourth time this year team members from The Travel Corporation have helped at the GSPCA and we also had many of their team assist us last year.
This morning a baby bunny has been rescued with a broken leg.
The young animal was found near Genats Estate in Castel and has just been to the vets to be seen what can be done to help this poor defenceless young rabbit.
GSPCA Ambulance Volunteer Warden Andrew Green rushed the injured bunny to the vets and thankfully despite his injury he has received initial treatment and has received treatments including pain relief.
The GSPCA are appealing for the owner to please call us on 257261 as soon as possible.
