Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "We had an amazing day at the #GSPCA #AnimalWelfareSeafrontSunday this weekend gone."
"We saw so many happy animals and owners but we have a sad tale of a stray ipod which is now in our care."
"The escaped iPod that was found as a stray & handed to us after being caught in the free kids zone on the Crown Pier."
"Sadly it was found with no lead or collar, so no ID tag."
"Its got chips in it, but not a microchip to id the owner & wasn’t claimed on the day."
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “Yesterday the GSPCA held their 12th Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday and what an incredible day.”
“The weather was just right and with the Guernsey Boat Show also on the Crown Pier and the Guernsey Ultra 2024 the visitors to the day had over 200 stalls, activities and things to see and do.”
Today the GSPCA had a wonderful call and email to inform us that we have been nominated in the BBC Make a Difference Award.
The awards recognise individuals and groups who make life better for people in our Bailiwick communities.
Their panel of judges have considered all entries and shortlisted 4 finalists, but we and you will have to wait a while to find out if we’re one of them. They’ll be announcing those finalists live on BBC Radio Guernsey in late summer and the final winner will be named in September.
With just 2 days to go to the BIGGEST day in the GSPCA calendar we are calling on volunteers that can help with our BIG day.

Every year we hear of firework related incidents involving animals and children. While fireworks may be exciting and pretty to look at and its fun to celebrate many celebrations with a bang, we must put our safety, the safety of our pets and the local wildlife first.
Tomorrow as part of Liberation Day just after 2115hrs (915pm) at La Vallette in St Peter Port there are firework displays planned so please ensure your animals are safe and prepare for the unusual sounds and sights they might be subjected too.
