This Easter and from tomorrow the GSPCA are pleased to announce that thanks to OSA Recruitment we will be in town with a Pop Up Easter & Cupcake Shop.
During Easter Week the shop will have everything you need for animals this Spring, Cupcakes to celebrate the second GSPCA Cupcake Week and lots for the kids.
Last week the GSPCA was inundated with calls of tethered cattle that were left out in the blizzard conditions.
Despite the awful weather, Shelter staff drove to many of the animals to check their condition and we reported our concerns to the owners.
With tethering of cattle being a legal practice within Guernsey the Shelter was unable to take any action other than passing our concerns to the owners of the animals.
Today between 5pm and 8pm and tomorrow between 9.15am and 4pm the GSPCA will be at the Career Show at Beau Sejour.
At our stand you will not only be able to find out about working for the GSPCA but also the many volunteer opportunities.
To visit the Career Show page and find out more please
When we have vacancies we advertise on our web site. To see this page and previous posts please
Every year as the weather warms and Easter arrives some parents think of rabbits as an a pet for their child.
The GSPCA this March want to send the message that a rabbit isn't just for Easter!!!
Over the last 18 months the GSPCA has had more stray and unwanted rabbits than the previous 5 years.
Many rabbits are bought on impulse and are housed in small hutches at the end of the garden with no exercise and the child often forgets the poor pet that is left for the parents to care for.
We are pleased to announce that The Vintage Tea Party Company (Guernsey) will be joining in with the GSPCA Cupcake Week.
Last year over a thousand pounds was raised through local businesses and schools making, baking and selling cake to help animals in Guernsey.
With only a week to go the GSPCA are appealing for volunteers to help with our Easter Pop Up Shop in Smith Street from Saturday 25th March 2013 and setting it up next Friday.
The Shop will have lots of Easter goodies for you and your pets as well as a treasure hunt around St Peter Port to keep the children entertained.
It is also the GSPCA Cupcake Week, a week to make, bake and sell cake to raise funds for the GSPCA and to find out more please go to http://www.gspca.org.gg/page/gspca-cupcake-week
