Our next Volunteer Induction Evening at the GSPCA is on Monday 6th July at 6.30pm.
All ages are welcome, but to help on site with the animals you have to be 14 years old or over.

As part of Volunteers Week and our continued recruitment of volunteers to help animals in Guernsey last night we greeted 7 new faces wanting to help at the GSPCA.
From work experience to Duke of Edinburgh, dog walking to reception, cat pen cleaning to helping with the wildlife, fund raising to volunteering to gain experience for their CV all of the group were looking to help the work of the Animal Shelter and some to help gain life skills.
Getting to the Shelter was a little challenge with the road closure but all arrived around 6.30pm.
At the GSPCA we care for between 200 and 300 animals at any time and work 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Without volunteers we couldn't carry out the vital animal welfare work and on Wednesday we are holding our next volunteer induction evening at 6.30pm.
We are currently looking to find volunteers that can help in all areas and especially help us cover the ambulance work which we have carried out as a 24 hour service for over 40 years.
Last night at the GSPCA we welcomed 15 new volunteers to the team.
Shortly after 6pm eager new faces started to arrive to learn about the GSPCA and how to get involved.
GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne was on hand to meet and greet the group who came from all walks of life.
The group were given an induction on about the GSPCA and the different volunteer roles.
A talk on working safely at the GSPCA was followed by a calendar of upcoming GSPCA events.
On Thursday and Friday last week 16 staff from The Travel Corporation gave up a day in the office to help out at the GSPCA.
The team of staff were split into 8 on each day and both groups arrived at 9am where they received a short induction before helping around site with the 300 animals at the Shelter in St Andrews.
A number of the group were versed in helping at the GSPCA after helping last year at the Shelter for a day.
After a very busy Guernsey Careers Show the GSPCA are expecting a full house for our next Volunteer Induction Evening on Wednesday May 6th.
Whilst at the Careers Show at Beau Sejour the GSPCA team spoke to dozens of interested students and adults looking to help animals in Guernsey.
The next induction will be held at the GSPCA 6.30pm on Wednesday May 6th.

Tomorrow between 9am and 7pm the GSPCA will be at the Careers Show at Beau Sejour.
At our stand we will have members of our team to chat about working for the GSPCA and also the many volunteer opportunities.
Not only will there be members of our team through the day, we will also have a few shelled four legged friends.

Yesterday a team of 21 staff from Specsavers spent the day helping at the GSPCA.
The staff from Specsavers are the first group of 2015 to help at the Animal Shelter in St Andrews.
The group arrived at 9am and had a quick induction, group picture and were then quickly set to work around the site.
