Once again there will be a fun dog show at the Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday.
Judging starts at 1230pm with registration from 11am with the show ring located on the Crown Pier.
This is always a fabulous, fun, highlight of this special day which is during our 150th year and is open to any breed of dog.

We celebrate our 150 year history this year and we couldn’t do so much without our incredible team of staff, volunteers and supporters.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We have never been so busy as we have been in current years and with plans of new builds to meeting every day demands we are currently recruiting for additional team members at the GSPCA.”
“Sadly some of our fantastic staff are off for new adventures and we are looking to recruit those keen to help animals, make a difference and support our community.”
At the GSPCA we are normally appealing for homes for animals, but we are currently appealing for your unwanted soft toys.
The cuddly toys we are appealing for will found good homes as prizes on some of our games to help raise funds for the Shelter such as our upcoming Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday.
If you have any unwanted soft toys then please pop them up to the Shelter or if you need a vehicle to pick up quite a few then please let us know and we can arrange collection.
This long Bank Holiday weekend the GSPCA reception hours are slightly adjusted but our 24/7 emergency service is in operation as usual.
Our Charity Shop in Smith Street will also have adjusted opening hours.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “If you have an emergency this weekend you can call us 24/7 on 257261 and choose option 2 for our out of hours emergency warden.”
“We do have team members help cover the front desk at the GSPCA 11am too 4pm on the Bank Holidays, but our Charity Shop in Smith Street will be closed on these days.”
This bank holiday weekend we are extremely busy at the GSPCA and we are calling any of our amazing volunteers with any time to help.
From helping with our busy ambulance service to walking dogs, our full cattery to our packed rabbit and small animal department, over 100 hedgehogs to over 30 reptiles, gardening to helping on reception, not to mention our stall at the EDABL Seafront Sunday.
All trained volunteers need to do is pop in and the team will have plenty for you to do and a huge thanks in advance.
This Sunday the GSPCA will once again be on the Seafront for the first EDABL Seafront Sunday and first of the year taking place in St Peter Port.
This Sunday from 10am till 4pm the GSPCA are delighted to say we will be joining the EDABL Seafront Sunday to raise much needed funds and promote the work of the Animal Shelter.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "We always have great fun at the Seafront Sundays and not only are we looking forward to this weekend, we are appealing for volunteers to help at the first EDABL Seafront Sunday on the 7th May."

The Customer Service Awards 2023, refreshed, revamped and presented by Island FM & Channel 103 opened nominations on the GSPCA 150th anniversary on the 14th February this year and recently closed for the judges to look at the nominations.
After a hiatus of four years, there Customer Service Awards highlighted there is more reason than ever to praise our Island’s hard workers.
The GSPCA desperately needs to build a Small Animal Department.
It recent years at the GSPCA we have seen a sharp increase in the numbers of rabbits, small animals, birds and reptiles in need of our help.
We are appealing for your help to build a Small Animal Department and really need your help.
Thankfully we have an area which was our on-site Charity Shop which moved into Smith Street meaning we have a section to develop which is now underway , but we really need your help.
